In the late 19th century, travelers to and from San Francisco and points north often passed through Tiburon, where ferry service to the city met train service heading as far north as Mendocino. This barn-style structure was built to house railroad records; later, it served as the office of Charles Warren Callister, a prolific postwar architect.
The property is a few blocks from upscale restaurants on the waterfront and within walking distance of ferry terminals offering transportation to Angel Island and San Francisco. Driving to San Francisco usually takes less than an hour, depending on traffic.
